Cadillac will show its CTS V race car (AW, Aug. 18) at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The Pratt & Miller-built car, which Max Angelelli has been testing, will race in the 2004 SCCA Speed World Challenge series’ GT class. That series will run its 2004 schedule with the American Le Mans Series and the SCCA. ALMS will jointly sanction and officiate the ’04 World Challenge races.
And didn't post it since I didn't find it relevant to the C6, that's just a racing version just as the C5-R is and C6-R will be. You can't buy that and drive it on the street. Plus I believe the C6-R will be a faster car since it will be lighter. Also, I don't know, but doesn't that car fall under a different racing class since it's a four door?
Re: CTS-V, new Version.....knocking on Corvette? (Sun King)
I like the CTS and I really like that CTS-V. Another good GM choice for gearheads!!!
:iagree: ...as usual... I'm considering the CTS-V on a lease while waiting for the 2006 Z06 to launch.
I think that if i had the money i would think about taking one over the vette as a dailly driver... they are really awesome in manny aspects!
Re: CTS-V, new Version.....knocking on Corvette? (BILLYD)
With the CTS-V getting the Vette motor, that means a 45k sedan will outperform the 80k XLR. Will the XLR share the new Vette motor??
More like $50,000; but this is good for them. The XLR isn't about being the fastest and quickest; it's about competing with the high-price GT Sports cars and it's doing quite well.
The CTS-V, on the other hand, is about competing with the M3 and M5. It already beats the current versions of both of them on the track.

Man, that CTS-V Racing is one mean looking machine. I might end up in the market for a CTS-V is the C6 ends up looking like the crappy spyshots being passed around. Probably makes more sense for me anyway.

There is only one thing about this photo that strikes me as Odd. Take a look at this photo again:
This car has a tag and is driving on the street. GM doesn't test it's Race cars on the street. Heck I don't even think a C5R could clear a speed bump much less qualify for a tag. While I can agree with the Car Connection hypothesis abotu this, it still seams rather odd....
