Interesting. Can you explain how you got the info? Also, do you know if it has auto-leveling headlamps? I want to see if my prediction about them is correct. Any more info confirming your source would be useful.
Internal document to the supplier. I am not sure if they are self leveling, but if I hear anything I will post what I can. Aren't most HID's self leveling to avoid blinding oncoming traffic??
It's required in european cars, but not in american cars. They can also have a self leveling suspension instead of a self leveling lamp. I predicted that the C6 will have self leveling lamps because they won't want to make a self leveling suspension, and they won't want to make self leveling headlamps just for the european versions of the vette. We already know they are catering to european tastes somewhat so I expect they'll comply with all of their regulations as well.
What about Xenon low beams? I expected HIDs, but I really want to see Xenon low beams. :yesnod:
GDP, that's the second time you've said that. Do you understand that Xenon lights ARE HID's. They are the same thing. They are the blue-ish looking lamps you see on the front of Audis, BMWs, Mercs, Cadillacs, Acuras, Lexi etc. They are NOT the "Xenon" bulbs you see marketed in the auto parts store for 25 bucks a pair. Those are simply blue tinted halogen lights.

And I have them on my S2000 I love them they are great headlights fer sure.
Well if it's not both, then it will at least be low beams. Traditionally they offer low beams before high beams because the lights take a second to turn on and warm up, so it's easier to use them for low beams and just leave them running the whole time. But lately a lot of cars have been coming out with bi-xenon. I certainly hope that's what the C6 has. It really aids high speed night driving.

Oh, didn't know that. My friend's mom's Lincoln Navigator has the HID high beams, and they're not the blueish looking lamps. Thought that Xenon were different because of this. :bb
my mom has xenon's on her cadilac and they are SWEET. To bad you can't get them on the C5
You can in the aftermarket. They aren't cheap tho.
I went the cheap route with 65 watt (supposedly) low beam blue halogens on my wife's Impala. They melted the darn plastic connectors. Won't do that again.

I put HIDs on my C5. Made a huge difference in light output. I couldn't see well enough with the stock lights....now the road is bright as day! Actually the low beams are so bright (they are the HID's) that I can hardly notice when I turn on the high beams. I'm thinking about upgrading the highbeams too. I think I might burn a hole in the horizon though :) Seriously...I love HIDs.
HID's are made up of a few components which inlude a Ballast/Transformer and the bulbs, which do not have filaments (unlike a regular Zenon or Halogen bulb). HID's are usually 35 watts, not 65 and would not melt the connector. Sounds like you got the reguar $20.00 Zenon bulbs, not HID's. HID's are about 25 times more expensive than regular Zenon bulbs (which DO have a filament) and they require electrical modifications to your vehicle's headlight ciruits, as well as the installtion of the Ballast.

I was thinking about the LAPD setup, the self leveling kind, if they are out of level, gotta level them my self :lolg:
