i am no engineer but my other car, a rx 330 lexus, besides my vette has a 5 speed automatic and it sure seems to handle the engine torque better than a 4 speed automatic. i remember the same feeling when 3 speed automatics started replacing 2 speeds. i hope that a 6 speed automatic is right around the corner. i am sure that the first and second gears on it will make my future new vette scream even more than ever!! andy :party:

Why can't the C6 be fitted with the 5 speed automatic from the XLR? That would be a nice compromise between the old fashion 4 speed and the coming 6 speed automatic transmissions.

From what I read the 2005 C6 will have a 4L65E (4L60E being phased out). The 6-speed X-15 auto will appear in the 2006 C6. I think the 2006MY will have many upgrades, reason not to buy the first year C6.
