Anyone have the C5 video?
Does anyone? I use too, until my hard drive crashed last year.

Very good for its time.

Marketing has come a long way.
Yup. It seems so campy now.

Of course there's nothing like watching commericals from the 50s and 60s.

What a GAY commercial. I need a set of those silver spaceman gloves! OHHH it has unidirectional spoke wheels, and tires for each corner! Amazing hahaha... anyone have the C5 commercials? The one in 97? I haven't seen the one with bird s'hit, but I have seeen the one with the two guys in a red vert in a parade with the "queen" on the tonneau. They're cruising at 10 mph and say "This is so wrong in so many ways." (referring to driving the vette slow).

There's another Chevy commercial where these two young guys are driving a 2003 Convertible Torch Red Vette like 5 mph in a parade with a beauty queen sitting on the back waving to the crowd. They look at each other and the young kid driving says" this is so wrong" It is GREAT!!! :yesnod:

BTW, notice how several shots in this commercial make the C4's hood look massive? I guess they were proud of the clamshell. That and the headlights are still two of the coolest things in all of Corvette styling lore... maybe not on the same hallowed shelf as the split window, but certainly on the next shelf down...

I remember seeing that commercial when the C4 first came out. I saw my first '84, it was a gold coupe, on the showroom floor at the local Chevy lot. All I could think was WOW! People nowadays blast the C4's, especially the early ones, calling them slow and clunky but people that havent been around vettes for a long time dont realize how revolutionary the C4 design was. There was light years of difference between it and the last C3's technologically. Someday the early C4 will get the recognition it deserves.

The "tires for each corner" isn't near as funny as the "never before speakers". Must have been an 80's euphamism for the Delco Blose. :lolg:

That was fun. As an original owner of an 84 Xfire, its nice to be reminded how big a change the 84 MY was from anything previous. Although maligned, the 84 marks a significant event in Corvette history when it would finally be regarded as a serious sports car. It really was like nothing else we ever saw before. Unfortunately, like many of GM's fantastic leaps, it took a while to debug the car and so the significance of the 84 model has been severely diminished because of the production issues. :(

I'd like to say that the steering wheel and the rest of the interior are a big disapointment, but the exterior looks great!

Just kidding!
