I leased my current Vette and it goes back in Nov 2004. I did this hoping that I would time it correctly for the C6 intro. Seems like I got it close. I just spoke with the dealer that I leased from and he told me that orders are starting to come in, but that they do not believe all the internet-posted RPO codes are truly accurate. In fact he told me that all the colors may not be correct either.
He said that they are taking small deposits and once the GM order system opens, then I can spec out the car I want for delivery.
Here's the dilemma....If production goes as scheduled, he tells me the first batch of Vettes will be delivered during late August. That would put me in a position of having 2 Vettes. Not a terrible problem if I owned the first one, but the thought of making 3 extra months of lease payments kills me. So what do I do, place the order today or wait?
I'm not concerned about getting the first run off the assembly line. That's what warranties are for.
Forgot to add that this dealer is selling for MSRP and not a penny over. Those dealers that are taking advantage and selling cars at over MSRP should be shot. I'm sure there are plenty of reputable dealers that will not stoop to price gouging levels. Just be patient and find the right one. I know I did.
You will have no problem getting out of your lease three months early especially if you are buying another car.
I totaled my 2000 C5 in 2001. Knew the new Vette was coming in a couple of years and decided to save a little money and lease a 2001 TA for two years. I leased an Auto because they happended to have a black beauty Vert on the floor and I loved it. Within a month I hated the Auto, in fact I was near tears, seriously !! Six months later I got out of the lease with over a year to go and got the Collector Edition TransAm at zero percent financing for a small fee to get out the lease. The TA is almost paid off and I am glad I have it. I can now look forward to C6 as planned.
Bottom line, three months is nothing and you should have no problem with getting out of the lease. Talk to your dealer.

:iagree: I lease my F-150s (buy my Vettes outright) and Ford always takes them back early without penalty to get me into a new one. F-150s and Vettes are like apples and oranges, but the bottom line is moving product out the door!
No prices yet. He said he would take nominal deposit and then ask for 5% after I choose all my options...which I cant do until the official release of all the pricing info.
Re: Need Advice on Ordering C6... (The Corvette Junkie)
It is not always easy to get out of a lease early especially if it is not through GMAC. My father tried to get out of a Silverado lease 6 months early. He offered to pay the last 6 months and turn the vehicle in with 13k miles left and they still refused to take it back early. The leasing companies do not want to pay taxes and insurance on the vehicle.
Also remember, you not only might have to make 2 car payments for a couple of months, but you will also have to make 2 insurance payments, and depending on the state your in, personal property taxes on 2 vettes. I just don't see the rush, they won't run out of Vettes.
I believe Ken Fitchner's latest newsletter provides information on when dealers will receive their first allocation and when they can submit orders, and that would be the same time frame for all dealers. Check out his latest newsletter.
Assuming that you dealer is taking a deposit for some pricing algorithm based on MSRP, I'm sure he will work with you on estimated delivery if he is honest about his current estimated allocation.
Production will ramp-up and no one knows how fast it will be. It will depend on the number of gliches and how fast they can be solved. At best the dealer should be able to tell you your number on the waiting list and how many '04 Corvettes he expects to receive based on a reasonable estmate of how many '04s will be built.
