Is that kinda like how, if I recall, the '63 C2 had the exact same rear end from the quarter panels back as the '62 C1? That must have been a C1 and 22/44ths. :smash:
Wonder what the called the Porsche when they went from the old style 911 to the present 911 style. A 911 1/2? That rag is so biased it not worth reading.

The article seemed to be just luke warm to me. Then too, the whole edition was that way.
:chevy
:iagree:
:iagree: Mine came today, and I have already blasted a nasty note to the editor. C&D is usually pretty good. They do love the Germans, but they have also been relatively good to the Vette. I think they took the holidays off. :mad
Car and Driver is calling the C6 the "C5 and 11/16ths." Perfect label!
Amazing how uninformed a major auto magazine can be. They should read a copy of Hib Halverson's 6 page letter on the C6. A .... let's see .... the C5 & C6 both have the same mirrors, it's only 11/16ths. mmmm. I don't think I agree with C&D. Their statement is as accurate as their rendering:

C&D seems to be the most complimentary to the Vette of any mag out there.
- Crowned 01 vert #1 over the German roadsters
- Compare just about every car they review to the coupe or Z06 - it's been their benchmark for a while now
- Named the C5 one of the 10 Best AGAIN this year, in the 8th year of its production, for God's sake!
What more do you want from these guys? They have to review other cars too you know!

I wanted an article that was neither shallow or late! That is not asking too much from the number one American Car Magazine (arguably) previewing the number one American sports car. When did the Motortrend pics come available? How about the Automobile pics? How about the Road and Track pics?
When did I get my Car and Driver? TODAY!
How were the pics? STOCK!
Did I learn anything new from the article? NO!
C&D published this in July 02. I don't disagree that C&D and usually MT have not bruitalized vette the way R&T has. Nevertheless, it is amazing how much more we know here about our icon than the professional reporters. They really just hit the information mountain tops since they have to report on the entire industry. When we see statements like the one above, it rocks my confidence in the rest of the information they present in their mag.
The Car and Driver article was need i say HORRIBLE!
I dont really think they spent any time looking at the car because the more you look at it the more differences you see from the C5.
They should have hired some vette maniacs like us to write the article IMO.
I was very dissapointed.
I've read it. What does that have to do with Car and Driver?
YOU said you didn't learn anything from the C&D article. I referred you to a source that was full of good information. I was trying to help. What's your problem?
