What would prevent the DVD Navigation system from playing a DVD movie when it was just sitting around doing nothing? anyone know why this wouldn't serve both purposes?

That feature is probably not allowed because it would be a safety issue. I have heard of laws that say no TV type screen with entertainment type programing on it is allowed to be visable from the driver's seat. If you look at factory installed DVDs, they are always behind the driver's field of view.

I want to say I remember that the XLR's system plays DVD's when in park. Can't say for sure though.

:iagree: I read that too. No doubt someone will aftermarket a bypass so movies can be played at speed and cars and passengers can be turned into road jelly.
