Default Which option would you select?

If you could only have one or the other of the following options, which would you select for your new C6?

That's a no brainer. The 7 liter of course. :yesnod:

It's been said a million times before over the years "there is no substitute for cubic inches. If a little is good, more is better & too much is just enough".

I will take the sound/nav please. What I dont understand is why, in order to make more power, all US manufacturers have to make the engine bigger? Ferrari has a V8, displacing 3.6 litres, making 425 hp. I bet it weighs a lot less than a 6 litre iron monster in the front end of the C6, and definetely a lot less than the 7.0 litre engine you all want. I know someone is giong to say, Yeah, but it is so much more expensive, or we americans like our torque down low so we can all have our automatic transmissions, well here is a newsflash, the corvette is a sports car, sports cars arent suposed to have automatic transmissions. They are supposed to be lightweight, powerful and well handling cars. Something a 7.0 litre hunk of iron in the front seems to be against? PLus, General Motors is ther largest auto manufacturer in the world with tremendous resources, if they could use these efficiently they could produce amazing results at amazing affordability.

I think you mean 6 litre aluminum monster. Engines in vettes haven't been iron blocks/heads for a while now. :D

Sound/Nav system. That much motor = too much weight (Unless bored/stroked, then there are reliability problems).

Not to mention, you could still supercharge the **** if you really wanted to. It's easy to improve engine performance, not so easy to get a good factory-looking sound system and navigation system. I have installed custom stereos before. Lots of work for quality. I'd rather have the SS and Nav from the logical standpoint that you can still upgrade the engine later more easily.

The Mazda Miata is a sports car. It is not powerful. Sometimes, people just want automatics. That doesn't make a Corvette any less of a sports car. Period.

I agree with the big V8 and a thunderous exhaust system. :hurray:

Well here's a newsflash : The LS1 and LS2 are aluminum, not iron. Also, when HP is calculated, both torque and rpm are weighted equally in the equation. Us dumb Americans prefer our HP to be more a function of torque than rpm. In the bassackwards U.S., we aren't penalized for displacement as they are in (genuflecting as I type it) ....Europe ... Therefore, U.S. automakers aren't forced to use more costly solutions to achieve HP. Those who know how engines are built, know that $$/HP , maintenance costs, and fuel consumption are significantly higher for those small whineyassed motors while longevity is reduced.

And mine is a 6 speed. I like my torque down low because I like to make my passengers head bounce off the headrest as I go through the gears. :flag :chevy

Corvette IS amazingly affordable for what you get. Please provide an example of someone who does a better job. GM has done an awesome job. Have you compared the price of a C6 to a Ferrari ??  Geeeezus
