Hardtop Convetable?
1. Other than weight why hasn't corvette joined the rest of the modern cars with a hardtop convertable option?
2. Since reality is that this will not be an option anytime soon (since we barely got a power top option this year for the first time), are there any aftermarket hardtop options out there?
I only ask because I just love the lines of the convertable (much better than the targa) but the only concern is the rag top and the fact it looks kinda cheesy with the top up (IMHO) and it is an easy way to steal things from it with only a canvas cover to protect it and it's contents.
IMO, I don’t really think you see power hardtops on many sports cars at least not those that sell the image of pure sports car. You see it as the standard on those cars that lean more to the sport touring-car field like the Lexus, Mec. and XLR. Just my opinion though….
I’m pretty sure after-market hardtops can be had, have you searched the web?

I don't see why they wouldn't be working on a model for the C6 vert.
I can understand not wanting the hardtop, I don't even like fooling with the hardtop for my Stingray.....but how would the convertible look "silly" with a hardtop
You have virtually the same profile with a soft or hard top. FRCs are convertibles that were given the hardtop at the factory. You haven't seen much apparently so here's a few pics....I don't think it looks "silly" at all...to the contrary

One of my favorites...wallstAl's car
