Do anyone know what the price differential is between 1SA and 1SB? An educated guess based on past experience?
I really like the HUD but do not need the rest of the toys. Can I order the HUD and retrofit it later? I noticed on the GM parts web site that the HUD for the C5 can be had for around $875.
Go see what the difference is on C5 and it will be close. People did retrofit HUD units into C5's that did not come HUD. I imagine that no one knows for sure if it can be retrofitted onto C6. I would also imagine that once you pay the outright price to buy a HUD unit, cut a hole in the dash, do all the work, you would be miles ahead just to pay for the 1 SB package.
The 1SB for a 04 C5 is $1200. It shouldn't be much more for a C6.
It's going to be more. 1SA was standard last year. The $1,200 for 1SB only included the head-up display, Memory Package, auto-dimming mirrors, power telescopic steering column & Twilight Sentinel.
For the C6 the 1SB will contain the above and also include the now optional 1SA package, (1SX is standard on the coupe) side air bags, 6 way power seat, sport bucket seats, heated seats, Homelink, compass, 6-disc in-dash CD. All those extras will add up to more dollars. Take a look at the ordering workbook that Rick from Les Stanford Chevrolet posted and you'll see what I mean.
