Seems to me something is happening in the ordering process with GM on June 10th. Can somebody please refresh my memory? This waiting is absolute torture!
So, does this mean if you put a deposit on a C6 and haven't got a call from your dealer about your order you should be worried?
Depends on what he told you. If he said you'll be the first one on the block with a C6 and you haven't heard from him by now, then yes, I'd be worried.
You should at least have a "Vehicle Order Detail" sheet with your order # on it. By next week, some of those sheets will have a TPW (Target Production Week) date on them.
Where are you on the dealers list and how many Corvettes does he sell each year?
Kerbeck doesn't have a number list like other dealers but as the largest Corvette dealer you should be fine. They should give you the "Vehicle Order Detail" sheet so ask for it next week. By then, cars being built during the first two weeks of production will have a TPW date. Hopefully, your sheet will have a TPW of July 19 or July 26. If blank, then you have to wait a little longer.
Is it just me, or does GM use "double negatives" in their ordering process?
"if you ordered a Convertible without a manual top and the your order is up to be placed today AND you didn't change the order...your car does not get built."
I'm thinking that this means if you ordered your car WITH a power top it will not get allocated. Please help me here. I'm not very bright!
Just read it again, I'm confused. It looks like the ordering info from the factory says you have to get a power top to be allocated this week. But his statement below it seems to be contradictory.
