Is anyone able to confirm the colour of the carpeting in the rear hatch area of the coupe with either the steel grey or cashmere interior? I saw one pic that appeared to have greyish carpet in the back with cashmere in the front. The C5 all had co-ordinated carpets throughout the car, so I cannot see a reason why the C6 would not continue this. So can anyone provide some factual info on this.
Ok, so is the back color keyed the same as the carpet in front or not? I had read that the verts got grey in back regardless of interior but the coupes got the same carpet front and rear.
All will have the grayish carpet in back. All but cashmere will have the same grayish carpet up front.
Gray/black hatch area for all four interior colors.
Gray/black carpet and mats for ebony interior, red interior and gray interior. The Cashmere interior will have Cashmere carpet and Cashmere mats.
That is what I was afraid of. What other car has 2 colours of carpet inside? To me, this ranks right up (almost) with the license plate fiasco. Come on GM, what kind of reasoning can there be for grey carpet in the back and cashmere up front? My 01 C5 has light grey interior and the hatch area is still spotless, as I am sure most cars are, so it can't be because it was getting dirty.
I love the C6 and my order will stand. But I really think the interior will be less than it could be colour wise. Black dash, brushed aluminum center stack, cashmere seats, grey carpet in back; I have a headache.
Finally someone else notice this problem too.
I posted this problem earlier in late April after
going to the C5/C6 Birthday Bash. The cashmere (tan)
interior has tan seats, tan door panels (half black/half tan)
and FRONT tan carpet. The carpet in the cargo area
was grayish-black. I thought personnally it looked
out of place. I was hoping that the whole interior was
going to be cashmere (tan) including the cargo area.
I really did like the interior of the 50th anniversary model.
The whole interior was shale. It looked nice.
I guess that this is some sort of cost cutting measure from
Chevrolet. Instead of having the supplier producing (or quoting)
different colors of cargo carpet, the supplier produces only
one color of cargo carpet.
Something to think about. . . I really don't like it. I wish
that all of the interior was the same color.
Thanks again for listening. . have a great evening.
I agree, the carpets should match. Seems like they got the big stuff right but in my mind several details are not properly hashed out. The nav antenna, xm antenna, front plate mounting, and now carpet are all things that could have been done better without adding much, if any, cost to them or us.
It looks like I will be ordering some carpet and replacing the rear carpet with matching colors... We are going to order the DSO with Cashmere (tan) interior and top. I personally think GM has dropped the ball (again) on this one.

In the convertible it not bad since the trunk compartment is completely blocked off from the interior cabin. In fact the that were on either side of the waterfall on the C5 now house the rear speaker. You can see one in this pic.
