I was just wondering if the Shiny grey trim in the new vette is real aluminum? Those who have seen and have sat in the C6 would know this. Is it plastic or metal?
It's not a shiny plastic, if that is what you are talking about when you're thinking about it getting scratched. But anything plastic can get nicked and its color makes a difference in how noticable the nick is. Darker colors are less noticable. That's why I prefer an all black interior and don't like the silver trim.
This is one part of the C6 I am not that wild about. But it does have the ability to be repainted and clear coated for durability. I am going to have to look at it for a while and see if I like it. I looked at a new Equinox and it has some of the same stuff. It was so so. I sure hope the Vette looks better.
Now that I think about it, I wonder how it would look in carbon fiber? I wonder if there is such a thing as aluminum leaf? Like gold leaf, one could coat it and then brush it then clear coat it. Maybe silver leaf would look good if you brushed it.
I've seen the carbon fiber console and really don't like it. But then again I don't like the look of carbon fiber in general. I like it's strength just not it's looks.
