The convertibles that you saw coming down the line are test cars only (not dealer-ordered cars). Chevy is building 40-50 test cars at a rate or 2 per day this month. Then, if all is well, production of the customer ordered dealer convertibles will begin at the end of September at the earliest! I will have one of the first, but it is a Lemans Blue vert, so, hopefully, by the end of September, Lemans Blue will be off of constraint.

Ronnie - that is not true. That was only speculation. In May they put out information showing that the verts and coupes would begin at the same time. I actually have that information that they released.

However, every constraint list we've seen lately has all the convertibles (both with and without the power top) listed on it.

You are correct, to a point. Originally (last year) the plan was to have the coupe released at least 3 months before the vert. Then, this past spring, the plan changed to have them both go into production on July 19th. And, for the first week of production, a few verts were built, but they were POWER TOP verts only. After week 1, all verts went on constraint. As I mentioned earlier, 2 per day (TEST verts only) are being produced. I am keeping my fingers crossed that dealer-orederd verts go into production closer to September 1 as opposed to September 30, but, we will see. The plan now is for the end of September.

Thanks for the information.

Fortunately, I have never thought I'd get mine before November, so I am not dissapointed (yet!).
