Does all window tinting preclude using standard glass cleaning products on it like Windex? The guy that tinted my truck windows said not to use anything with ammonia in it.
i've had tinting on the rear window of my '98 Z28 Camaro from day one, and just clean it with whatever i use on the outside of the glass ....no problems
course......that has a lot to do with the fact that i bought premium tinting in the first place...don't go cheap on it

Is there a hands down best brand/model of tinting? I haven't ever used any, but I think I may want to. Any facts or opinions? (unless this is covered ad nauseum in other forums) Thanks....
be careful with the tenting if you get the navigation system. It needs an "all around view to operate best but if you put ANY tint on the front it will greatly affect reception (personal experience!). Too expensive of an option to not have it work right!

I think I may wind up with a coupe but either way I will have the glass tinted and before I take delivery. Its mandatory here in Phoenix.
Whoever posted that thing about NAV? WTF? The NAV operates off of a satellite and should have a dedicated antenna. Did they integrate it into the windscreen? That would be a first for me.
As for brand, I hear that Global is pretty exceptional.
Whats the average price for tinting?
How long does it take? A few hours?

Anybody know a good place in the San Francisco Bay Area preferably Concord, California?
I have 95% Limo tint on my other car for about 10 years and still going good no problems. Was professionally installed. Will need it on a hatchback because of all of that glass and no privacy. Definitely will go onto C-6.

I am thinking before I drive the car home from dealership I will have the Limo tint installed but more importantly have the front end, headlights, hood protected with the 3m X-pel because of all of those stone chips hopefully my salesperson can hook me up with the two and get it at his cost.

Did you have metallic window tint? I don't know about a NAV system, but metallic window tint will interfere with radio reception. They now sell non-metallic tint.

The C6 Navigation Manual Supplement states that window tint interferes with the Nav. Makes no sense to me since I have a Garmin GPS in my C5 with metallic tint on all the glass minus the windshield. The GPS works great.

Too bad it doesn't come from the factory like some of the others cars with the "Privacy Glass" as it is baked into the glass. Otherwise stick with limo tint (Not the Cheap stuff) it is not metal.
I'll go with the darkest tint available on the back glass only. I've always done it that way and never had a problem. Two reasons for this - Self defense from all the jacked up SUVs and P/Us with their blazing headlights. Also, it's against the law here to tint your front side windows. Should cost around $125 - $150 or so.
Where around Nashville Tennessee can you get the so called "premium tinting" or professional tinting? Anybody know? By the way, I'm willing to go far, as in distance, to have it done right.

I use the 95% limo tint it only lets 5% of the light in and is the darkest you can get. 10 years ago or so I paid $300.00 for that installation. Plus you will have more privacy from busy eyes looking into your hatch and stuff
I have two guys I would highly recommend here in Phoenix, one is the installer at Superstition Springs Lexus, expensive but very good, and the other is the subcontractor for the Mercedes store I bought my E500 from.
I'm a cheap skate bastard but some things are worth paying a premium for.
That NAV issue is interesting, I'd like to see how they integrated the antenna.
