Can someone please help me with a question related to the allocation process? My question is this...when do the dealers receive their allocations each month - is it a systematic process or random. In other words, my dealer told me that he sold 18 vettes last year and he expects to get ~8 C6's this year...one a month for the rest of the year. I am fourth on the deposit list and he has already got one allocation. I assume that was the August allocation. If so, and his theory is correct #2 should get the Sept alloc, #3 should get the Oct allocation and I should get the Oct allocation (#4). Is this correct?
Basically correct. Just be careful and make sure when your allocation comes up if an option you want is on constraint that your dealer lets you know so you can decide if you want to skip that option. He might just go on to the next customer so be sure you and your dealer agree that you be notified. Keep in mind, with a small dealer you may have to wait another month for the dealer to get his next allocation. Of course the same situation can happen again further delaying your car.

Agreed. While allocation can be estimated based on past sales, constraints can't. I don't claim any inside information on how constraints are managed. One factor seems to be the availability of components from supplies, ie. polished wheels, paint, transmissions, etc. Another factor GM may consider when publishing constraints is what options comprise most of the accepted orders. If the 1SB option is on 80% of those orders I suspect that cars ordered without 1SB will be built
following the 1SB cars. Just a WAG though.
