Default LS2 on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33615

My question is, since the C6 is the only car so far to get this engine, and they are just now being shipped, was this maybe an engine out of one of the pre-production cars? And if it is, does it come with a warrenty by GM if something breaks?

I don't think it is the same 6.0 as the 345 hp engine used in the Escalade, Silverado SS, etc. but I could be wrong.

Dang ISP crashed me before I could edit.

I doubt its identical. I would expect the heads and intake, cam to be different. I know the computer controls the new 6.0 truck engine with a variable displacement system, similar to the old 4-6-8 Caddilac.

The EBAy ad wording could be understood that it is NOT the 2005 Corvette LS2. I'd have to research the part number before I'd bite.

ZJA isn't listed anywhere I could find for a 2005 engine.

All of GM's trucks and SUV's use Vortech engines. Compleatly different.

I believe the 6.0 in the Chevy truck it an iron block. And it makes 345 hp 380 torque.

The ad does say that it is the LS2, 400hp, and is the same engine that is in the 2005 Corvette. Kinda hard to misunderstand that. If it is the real McCoy, where did he get it?

Yup; it's an LS2... I bet GM can't be too happy about that one. Wonder how it came into their hands...

There's two versions of the truck engine, one is the LQ9 345 HP used in the Escalade, Silverado SS, and Hummer. There is another version, I think it is LQ7 that is used in the GMC Denali and Chevrolet trucks (except the SS) that makes 325 HP. The difference in HP has to do with the compression ratio, from the information I have found.

Somewhere on the forum I recently saw a thread where the C6 engine was being discussed. I think the dispacement comes from a smaller block with a larger bore. Maybe I should spend more time reading the "Tech/Performance" section

Somewhere I read where the Gen IV engine would debute in the 2005 truck in a DOD configuration. I don't know the engine designation, i.e. LS2. I will link the article when I find it.

Of course, the SSR is scheduled to have a 390hp versio of the LS2 for 2005.

Sorry for the latteral hi-jack. It'd be great to see the LS2 available in the crate already!
