The reason they didn't use torch red is because it made the contours of the C6 look flat. PR shows them much better. VR is better than torch for showing those contours. As for confirmed I believe it is and it is not torch red, your dealer is full of
You know GM never changes. They know Corvette fans will except anything. Don't beleive it? Look at all the quality problems they've had over the years yet its called "charm of the car" but GM says take or leave it. I asked a rep at the museum just what do you get for the $490 you pay to have your car delivered to the museum and basically she said "they go over it to make sure nothing's wrong with the car. Uh. that's called QUALITY CONTROL. Let's see off the line, checked before shipped, dealer checked( I wonder) but to get the ultimate once over $490 to get a party and a REAL quality check but we still pay because that's the GM way and to quote a member here "it would cost thousands more if it was a foreign car." Most supercars have lots of flaws FERARRI etc. GM also has given a "new color to the C6 and it sounded exclusive in the interview mentioned in an answer post here. Oh yeah, it makes the car look more "streamlined" The ads are now all over TV about year end Pontiac sell offs and a strange color appears on one of the "GTs or GTPs' or whatever thsy sell but it looks a lot like this new red that GM has come updoes it make a Pontiac 'GT' look stramlined? They did the same with Millenium Yellow it was supposed to be "limited" for one year but they just couldn't lose those old GM ways. Loyalty? Maybe and maybe some of you remember this they almost scrapped the Corvette The "C" team had to hide till they developed the model. Read "All Corvettes are Red." Of course I'll buy one and deal with it. Lest you think I'm ragging on GM just read some of the posts here about how they are treated at dealerships. I'll be surprised if this is posted.

owning a corvette is like owning a harley davidson "if you have to ask you would not understand"
How long did it take you to come up with one? If owning a HARLEY is like owning a Corvette then you must have to work on yours everytime you drive it. It coule be a Fix Or Repair Daily.
About half of Walter R's post was cut and pasted from his post in another thread in this forum. The man has some real problems with GM, but I don't think this is the appropriate place to air them. Mentioning specifics about the C6 would be different. That's not happening.
So Walt, you gonna @#$!ing buy a C6 or what?
If not, why are you posting here? Go buy a friggin' Toyota and be done with it already.
Your Cavalier just break down or something?
IMHO the people who are into Harleys are the same people who don't look at the refined nature of the C6, to them image is more important than performance. Most don't see the beauty of the machine, or the functionality. I am not talking about cosmetics. Take the pop up headlights for instance , not very functional, heavy, complicated, no flash to pass, side plugs that fall out, poor night aeros and functionality. Their only redeeming factor is you can't see them in the daytime. Right next to worthless. The beauty of the C6's headlights, is their functionality, excellent light, flash to pass, great aeros day or night, clean implementation, very elegant. But when image is more important, one doesn't see that beauty. That doesn't mean that just because something is functional it can't be beautiful. but that kind of beauty is too subjective.
MAY BE NEW TO THIS FORUM, BUT NOT NEW TO THE HARLEY WORLD OR VETTE WORLD...BOUGHT ONE EACH ON MY RETURN FROM VIET NAM IN 1969...67 ROADSTER 69 SPORTSTER....THANK GOD BOTH HAVE TRANSFORMED OVER THE YEARS........SIX VETTES AND TEN HARLEYS LATER IT STILL BOILS DOWN TO '' WHAT EVER MAKES YOUR DOG BARK''....DONT LIKE UM DONT BUY UM.......
