Got Mine Today!!!
Here's a shot of the interior:
And here it is from the front:
Some quick observations so far:
1. The interior is roomier than I expected. Plenty of leg and head room, I'm 6'-1" and the car appears to be big enough for someone a few inches taller.
2. The car has gobs of torque! This car is going to bring a big grin to every driver's face when they step on the gas. Exaust sounds great IMO, I don't see myself ever wanting to change it.
3. Putting the car in reverse when you shut it off is no big deal. Kinda nice because you are already in reverse when you start the car and it makes backing out of a parking spot convenient. On the other hand, remembering that you don't need to fish your keys out of your pocket to start it is going to take a lot more getting used to.
4. I now understand what the "marbles in a can" sound from the manual trans is. I guess I can live with it.
5. Starting out in 2nd gear eliminates the CAGS problem. This car easily starts off in 2nd. 1st isn't necessary, at least on level ground. Maybe the lower gears in the Z51 trans make this even more so.
6. The Cashmere interior looks great, but probably won't for long. When the salesman and I went to the service station to fill it up I had to load up the floor with paper towels so I wouldn't get the carpet dirty. Better get some Scotchgard fabric protector, quick.
7. The radio volume was disappointing. It isn't very loud at all. Hopefully there is some kind of adjustment I haven't discovered yet.
8. Not that many people so far have shown much reaction to seeing the car on the street. I guess not everyone is as nuts about the arrival of the C6 as I am. Oh well, I didn't want attention anyway, just surprised that it hasn't turned many heads.
9. I didn't notice much heat coming from the center console area as others had indicated. Granted, I haven't driven that far but it was pretty damn hot here today.
10. Orange peel wasn't an issue at all, at least not on this car. Maybe I got lucky.
I love this car so far. Might not get a manual if I had to do it over again. I ordered it that way to make it better for some light track duty at weekend club events, but the auto would be my choice for everyday street driving. Now i'm off to read my owner's manual...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Question: Are those high polished or stock aluminum wheels? I can't tell from the photo. Mine will have stock, but I'm having 2nd thoughts. Thanks!

Congratulations: Is that your house behind you with the dirt drive way. If it is, I hope it doesn't rain. Great looking car.
