Default Automatic Trunk/Hatch

Is any C6 Owner having some challenges getting used to the auto trunk latch? Seems like its not as smooth as the old cadillacs and you sort of need to bump it down for it to catch - a few times this weekend I actually shut it forgetting there is an auto catch feature - I wonder if this can cause damage to the mechanism? Any thoughts from C6 owners? Thanks!!

Haven't had any trouble. Occasionally I'll leave the driver door open out of habit from the C5 (made it easier to shut hatch with a door open). The auto catch has neglected to shut around 2 times. I didn't use enough downward force. With all of that said, I love the system and believe it to be an improvement over the C5. Thanks.
