Default Nav system

Went out played with mine a while in the driveway tonight. Figured out a few things I didn't know it did.

Let me tell you one thing I did: I put it in 3d mode (using set up) and I took my finger and sort of flew all over the state like a bird looking down at the different lakes and streets etc. You can vary the flight speed once you get the hang of it. Really cool.

I will use the NAV a lot. I have to find properties to do a drive by on all the time, for my real estate investing, and this will be invaluable. I can look at the entire area as if from a birds eye view and not have to have a huge map open in th car like in the past. Anybody else having fun with theirs yet?

How about posting a full size pic of your avatar? From that angle in silver, the C6 looks amazing

One of my companies is developing a real estate (etc) platform within a virtual reality 3D mapping system, which will allow one to explore the usual streets, buildings, and neighborhoods, but will also include visual interiors of real estate for the buying/selling investment/residential communities (all over the country). (I am also in real estate/corporate development industry specializing in celebrity branding.)

The plan calls for incorporating DVD databased programming into media that can be played in any NAV system for exploring said properties. (System will start with 3D glasses or screen covers, then move to holographic freestanding projections as to allow more user-friendly situations.)

Seems like you could be one of our beta testers...

Really? Maroone, Kelley, Bachrodt, Phil Smith, Ed Morse?

I've never had a Corvette. (Been with Mercedes for a while.) Came to this forum to gain insight (sometimes one can even get it too) on what to expect. I really like the C6. I was going to get a C5 until I heard (year ago) that C6 was coming.

I have been reading that next year C6 will come with 5/6spd automatic (instead of the current 4spd). Some mags even mention paddle-shift! Decisions, decisions!

I'm also hoping that the production aspect will stabilize for more availability and less delay and dealers will lesson their gouging practices before I take purchase. (Few more months?)

Finally, the 3D mapping software I spoke of is being developed in Michigan (proprietary) and is expected to have the product sometime within the next 18 months. We're really excited about where this technology can go.

There are some decent Corvette clubs in the area, and the people at Ecklers do some nice events. Maybe I'll see your car some time....

All the best.

And if we can get these lousy hurricanes to take a break, maybe the bottled-up area can get back to what it does best:

Can you believe that yet another hurricane is projected toward south Florida? What is this?

Sounds interesting. How will you keep the database in the car updated? Properties go into and out of the MLS on a daily basis - far too often to keep the database on a DVD. Are you planning some kind of wireless link for the updates?

BTW, it would rock to be escorted around town by a Realtor with a C6.

I love the Nav system. I had a Garmin in my C5 but I like the C6 version better. It's a great addition to a great car!

Something like that (remember, satellites offer great range, with DVD encoding technology cabable of input information - but it goes well beyond this), but this is proprietary technology.

Agreed. But what's even better, especially in my line of work, is having the City's Mayoral office tour my (major credit tenant) clients around from the airport to the actually sites with the Mayor's blessing. The City and the clients sell each other on the merits. It works!
