Default Cool C6 Feature

Gary Lester at Lone Star Chevrolet just showed me a cool feature on the C6. On the DIC, as you start the car, it reads, 'Corvette by Chevrolet owned by 'your name". You can program you name into the DIC.

Being a "gadget guy", I think that's a really cool feature.

What happens if you and say your wife drive it? Is it tuned to work with the memory package like the telescpoing steering wheel. Will it then say the person who is driving the car, if thats the case that would really impress me.

But then again i have high standards lol

TRAYC6 was the first one to mention this feature I believe.
She mentioned she can program up to 20 characters into the DIC.

But does she have a special tool, or is it something I can do myself?

Oh, I didn't answer the questions posed above....you do it...no need for dealer and no tool needed. You do it with the buttons on the right side of the dash. It is all really spelled out well in the owners manual.

It's something you can program yourself. If you have more than 1 driver, each driver can personalize their own message. The message will be flashed for whichever driver fob or memory button (on door) is being used. See page 3-74 of your owner's manual.

I'm not gonna telle her about it and just change the message after each time she drives it. Should drive her a bit

Maybe I can make her think it's haunted so she won't want to drive it.

It's actually each memory setting associated with a fob or memory button, not the key.
