Default Order Status

How long can an order remain at 1100? My order was placed on 8/25 and still at 1100. UGH!!! I know my dealer doesn't have a huge allocation but he tells me there is no way to know when the status will change, that Corvettes are handled differently than other Chevy's. He is fleet guy so may not be too familiar with the process. Only saving grace is that he is giving me a very good deal on the car.

It depends on when your dealer gets allocation for the order. He should know what his allocation is for the next 8 weeks or so. If you have an order # I can look the status up for you.

The LB cars still seem to be behind the curve.

This may or may not help any, but my order was placed May 3, 2004, and I'm still at 1100. I'm getting the same response from my dealer that you are.

Marvin, any chance you can also find out whether or not Stan McNabb Chevy in Tullahoma has an allocation in the next 8-10 weeks? You've got my order no.

My $0.02 worth.....

Placed my order in early April 2004 and sat at 1100 until a week ago. As of today, I'm at 3100 with TPW of 9/27.

Depends on dealer allocation and depends on constraint issues. If you dealer has a small allocation (mine has 600), you may wait quite a long while and perhaps that is the reason you were given a "good" price.

Not to worry... time passes before you know it... just hang in there.

Aloha!

Unfortuantely I cannot look to see what they have in the way of allocation. You will have to get that from them. They CAN look it up. At this point they should know what they have allocated for the next 8-10 weeks of production.

I placed my order in May with a $5000.00 deposit. When I could no longer take the BS from the dealer as to when I would get my car I asked for my money back. I was told it was nonrefundable. Thats when the sh?? hit the fan. This happened on Sep 13. On Sep 14 I got my money back and ordered my C6 at MSRP at another dealer. I already have a TPW of Oct 4. Alls well that ends well, but I will be more careful who I deal with next time.

Any chance I could get you to check the status of HKTC6Z? I think it was suppose to be built last week.

Thanks

Okay, thanks. I realize you had given me most of that information before. It's just that they act like they haven't heard and don't know anything about their allocation. Like they're still waiting on GM to tell them something.

That's pretty much the story I got. Can't tell me anything until they hear from Chevy that there has been a status change. Can't predict when it will move off of 1100, when car will be scheduled for production, etc. If this goes on into the end of the year I am inclined to wait for an '06.

Well, your dealer is either giving you a run-around or you are talking to the wrong person.

At a minimum, they should know three things:
1. How many Vettes they sold last year. That will be approximately how many they get this year. Multiply that by .8 to be safe (lower production this year).
2. How many Vettes they will get allocated in the current and upcoming production months that are being allocated. Note that a production month is not the same as calendar month.
3. Where you are on the dealer's list.

Then you can get an idea when things will happen. They won't know exactly when their allocations will come in for the month, but they'll know what the total will be. The only other factor to keep an eye on is the items that are on restriction. If you get to the top of the dealers list and some item on your car is restricted, the dealer can't allocate the order it without changing it. Make sure you tell them to give you that option if your name comes up and there is some restriction that affects you.

When you have been #2 on smaller dealer's list for 10 months and ordered Lemans Blue, you figure all this stuff out.

One other note to those of you that had your order accepted early but had Lemans Blue. They accepted a bunch or orders before realizing they had the problem, so the TPWs kept getting pushed back because they just weren't making them. But you'll still get earliest Blue cars. Those of us who's allocations came up just after Blue when on restriction couldn't even get into the queue, we just started getting in over the last couple of weeks. They really should just say that one week is going to be blue week and make nothing but blue cars. They owe us that. Don't they?
