Since I don't have OnStar in my C6, I was wondering what the consensus is on Lojack. I'm thinking of having one installed for some peace of mind. The C6's don't have any other standard theft deterrent feature like a GPS locator do they? I guess if you don't have OnStar, Lojack is the only way to go??? I'm also guessing the only down side is that these cars being so new, I hope they know where/how to install them without tearing something up or causing problems.
Thanks. I decided to go ahead and order it along with the early warning system. They said they'd be here Saturday between 8:00am and 1:00pm. Here's hoping they don't screw up my car!

Thanks for any opinions,

Sorry, I ignored part of your original question in my first response. There is a GPS element in the C6. Don't know if it's in there exclusively with a particular option like OnStar or not. However, I have seen some pre-release publicity on the C6 that says they can remotely disable the car. They can also remotely unlock your doors.
Now why would you need to deactivate the engine if it's stolen when the engine isn't supposed to be able to start w/o an FOB?
That's saying the FOB security measures can be bypassed OR
it's a useless feature unless your FOB is stolen.
Most likely if your vette is stolen, it's going to a chop shop on a trailer truck any way. Most amateur thieves go after Saturn SL, Acura Integra's, Accords and Civics. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5057824/) So that's leading me to conclude mostly professional theives go for the big boy toys.
I had the lojack system installed last week. The gave me a 4 hour window between 8:00AM to 12:00PM. Waited at home and they never showed up. Turns out there was a mix-up between Lojack and my dealers customer service rep. Scheduled it two days later with a install window between 12:00 PM to 4:00PM. Stayed at home until I got a call at 4:15PM from the lojack installer who was at my work office. Really ticked me off. Anyway, I had to drive back down to my office where they installed it in about 30 minutes. When I got in my car to drive home, I noticed that my cup holder door will not open up all the way rendering it useless. My first thought is that they installed the tracking unit somewhere near the middle console which was obstructing the door from opening all the way. After several phone calls Lojack told me that the devise was installed nowhere near the console. I'm not sure what happened, but only know that my cup holder was fine before the installation. In the meantime my dealer has ordered a new cup holder. Si x speed with no cup holder really bites.
Is anyone certain that LoJack works properly without issues in a C5 or C6? Those cars have current detection on most, if not all circuits. If a power drain is detected on a circuit, the computer shuts off power to that circuit after a period of time. I wonder if LoJack would have a problem with that as I assume it draws some current from somewhere???
Well, the guy showed up about 9:30 and the LoJack with early warning is installed. He took a good 2 hours to do the job, so I guess he was being careful. He said it was his first install in a C6. I drove it around afterwards and it seems fine, no issues so far like broken cup holders or electrical problems as have been reported by a few others, and no evidence that anything was done to it inside or out. When I called and set up the appointment, they asked if I wanted them to send a supervisor to do the job since the car was so new on the market. I said yes, so maybe that helps if anyone else is contemplating. While it was his first C6, he said he had done a lot of C5's which made me feel a little better.
