Is anyone else having trouble with visibility backing the car up? Maybe it is just me and I'm not used to the car yet. But, the other day I was parking outside of a restaurant and I decided to back it in. I wasn't parking in between other cars so I had nothing to reference. It was just me and the parking lines on the ground. I COULDN'T SEE THEM AT ALL. I got it backed in perfectly the first time, but it was pure guess work.

I always have trouble parking my '99 coupe. The front always ends up being "too long", and I continually hit those concrete bumpers, although always underneath, so no damage is obvious. The rear is always "shorter", than it seems, and I continually leave way too much room backing into a spot. Visibility is just not the best with these cars. I'm hoping my C6 will, at least, be easier to park frontwise, because of it's shorter overhang, but I'm not optimistic about backing in.
Yes, but then I have trouble backing all the time, in every car I've had lately, so it doesn't bother me. I just don't back up anywhere that I need much accuracy.
Yep, noticed that right away. I now usually pull in nose first now, since with the shorter overhang it's easier to tell where your located. Wavey rear glass and tall rear end don't help either. May have to turn rear view mirrors downward when backing?
Yep, backing is tough. You have to take a "mental picture" of what's behind you when entering the car, then try to remember it when backing up. I had to ask the wife to "spot me" the other day!
To me this is the main disadvantage of the C6. View out the back is like looking through a venetian blind with wavy distortion on both sides. Price we pay for having such a looking car!
I've had the same problems, but have gotten pretty good at it lately. I think it is something that comes easier with time and practice. I've gotten pretty accurate with the front now but still tend to undershoot when backing up.
This is where that cool toy of a backup camera tied into the NAV system. I know, more weight, bleh bleh bleh, but it would be a cool option none the less.
