Precision Red Roll Call

, but it's been in the shop since yesterday while they try to figure out why the check engine light is on and the cruise control doesn't work. And now I have to run the spare key down to the fine folks at Mossy Chevrolet, as they managed to run down the battery by leaving it in first overnight...
Oh, sorry, I digress... like I said, the color is great!

Mine was ordered by the dealer and I bought it before it arrived.

I go out to the garage and keep making sure it's still there<G>!
The paint is gorgeous! If I look REALLY close I might detect some OP but NOTHING like the pictures I've seen here. THe dealer clean-up could have been a little better as I have little pieces of "shipping plastic" still stuck on it.
I took 66 miles of back roads to get home rather than the freeways.
For those in and around the Santa Clara Valley I took the Hecker Pass road from Gilroy to Watsonville and it was fabulous! Kept it under 55mph and 2000rpms and was amazed at the handling. I could tell the difference between "Tour/Sport" (Auto, F55, 3.15). When I switched to Sport "she" seemed to get a lot ......tighter, sorta crouched down and wanted to play<G>. Sheesh...I still smile thinking about it and I wasn't even pushing the envelope!
I think this the first car I've felt so at home in the moment I started it and put in gear. I'm a big dude, 6'2" 280lbs. I should say that my weight is spread over my whole body, no big gut or butt<G> (Probably more than you all wanted to know) and I fit in it VERY comfortably. Loads of head room , well 2" anyway. Lots of room leg wise. Hips? ,,er....needless to say I'm very ..secure.
Complaints? hmm...well I do hear "rumblings" from what I will assume is the top. Silicone grease is on the shopping list. Fit and Finish are really good. Possible exception may be around the hatch....it looks a little more gap on one side than the other....very small. The hatch "catch" though has obviously been "worked on" quite a bit. Lotta shims and paint is worn off it...looks a little "hokey"; I'll hit it with some black paint later.
Might have been my imagination but I kept smelling..."funny" odors which I put down to new car being heated up and driven for the first time in real life..
Water temp = 200 - 215 deg. pressure and everything else ok. I didn't know how to "access" the oil temp today. Tomorrow is "getting to know you" day.

I got lucky.
I ordered mine with an L.A. salesman that had been off sick for two weeks.
A week later when he returned, he called me and said there was EXACTLY what I wanted on the floor, but it hadn't been logged into inventory yet.
Precision Red, 1SB, Ebony, Z-51, 6 spd, stock rims which are being replaced with chrome trades from vendor, and XM which I didn't really want, but hey what the hell.
Happy Holidays All.

In my (the german catalog) it says the precision red will only be build to fall and thereafter the color will be a Victory red.
Do you know something about it?
Thanks
