Default C-6 problems

what some of you do not understand is that i built race engines and if the customer had trouble in the first 8 miles he would be back for his money even if there was no warranty on race engines. any one would expect a $51,000 car to run more that 8 miles without a problem there is no excuse for what happened after they kept the car for 3 weeks for a "quality check" the car had 30 miles on it when it came off of the truck. the manual only applies if you disconnect the battery. this could mean that i have a bad connection somewhere that cut the power to the drivers window. like i posted before the other window worked fine.

I'm confused... they put 30 miles on your car to diagnose a faulty power window? I'd be irate if a dealer put more than a 3-5 miles on the car, no testing takes that long.

As a female co-worker once said to me when I told her about why the Corvette was a special kind of GM car: "It's just a Chevy"

I agree. Having one window work and the other not raises the question of electrical problems. I wouldn't be concerned over the posts to the opposite. It's your car and your money and your time.

I thought we had seen an earlier post from someone who seemed to know that a car held at BG for a quality check would have approx. X no. of miles on it AND would have a sticker stating that somewhere on the door jamb.

I have seen the info. (in the owner's manual) about battery power loss causing the problem with the windows, but I've not seen any information about something else causing it.

It is quite likely the car had the battery power loss during the "quality hold".

that is correct because my wife had 2 stints put in her artery and the cost was $51,000 the same as my corvette and i am sure glad that the people that did that were more careful than the people that built my corvette. about the homelink screwup how could this happen when my C-6 was built they were only building 1 SB and they all had homelink but mine?

Just 2 questions: How do you find out if your car is being held hostage, I mean for quality control.
How many miles should your new Corvette have on it?

i would guess less than 5,so 30 means it was driven a lot at bowling green. i have not yet put 30 more miles on it.

I hope so also clem...

HOWEVER - in this day and age EVERYTHING revolves around the lowest bidder(common denominator)...including stints!

That's why ya gotta admire astronauts .....that shuttle is built the cheapest way possible.....!!!

And also clem.......as we discussed privately...mine also had 30 miles on it from the factory. And you remember how close our VIN#s are.

Hmmmm... got me wondering now....

Or it could mean the mothership is drawing near

I would assume that the passenger side window has its own calibration seperate from the drivers side.

I have a friend that works for a company that makes RAM chips for computers. They have to test them after they are made and you wouldn't know what happens to the ones that fail, but I will tell you they don't throw them away.

Electronics either work forever, or they dont. I would be concerned as well but ONLY IF it did it again.
