It required him to fill the tire up to > 120psi multiple times. The same thing happened with the other rear wheel. Thankfully, the front wheels were not that hard. It only took a few repeated > 120psi to pop in place.

I was told that WCC has installed 3 other sets to C6 all with the same trouble. This really concerns me when it is time to replace the tires. Will the guys at Costco know how to do this?

BTW - I'll post some pics of my Black C6 w/Chrome wheels tomorrow.
I've got the same color combination. Look forward to seeing the pics with the new wheels. I've got the PW. I doubt I'd go to the expense and trouble of chrome but I'd like to see how they look on your car.

Now I'm curious??? I would have thought this was a no hassle mod. I do appreciate the heads up.

I'm as **** as they come w/ my Covertte. I don't have to worry about them scratching the car, because I take the wheels off of my Corvette myself, throw them in my pickup and go to Discount Tire. But I am curious about mounting issues specific to chrome wheels. People have been using chrome wheels for decades and I have never heard of them being more prone to leaks due to lubricants or any other reason. The only leaks I've ever heard of were on cast aluminum wheels due to porosity.

Personally, I think polished goods look better then chrome. Saves money and lasts longer. A good polish job is a thing of beauty.

I know you will have less problems if you just keep your Corvette factory stock and not mess around with it or aftermarket modifications as they made this car the way it has to be any changes messes the whole car up. Just like installing the aftermarket stereo situation on this car if you do it will mess everything up as the codes have to be accepted by the computer. "Use only AC Delco Parts" is that the saying?

I try to save a buck everywhere I can. This is my first Vette and my first experience with such wide tires. The last set of tire I had installed was on my 330ci. I had Costco special order Bridgestone Potenza S-03. Costco did a better job of the installation then the previous set of tires I ordered from Tirerack and had drop shipped to a Recommended Installer.

All I wanted to do is let you guys know the tire installation is not a slam-dunk and to be careful.
I'm not cheap, but I'm taking my brand new $50k+, Corvette to COSTCO !!!!!! to save a few bucks.

Instead of changing the oil, I just trade the son-of-a-b*tch in, and get a new one every year!

So you are saying the car can not be improved upon? If we followed that logic with the C5, no one would have installed the CLB (wouldnt want to mess up that wonderfully designed steering column lock). And what about all those defective batteries that leaked acid all over the computer? Still following that logic...all cars would sound the same, look the same, perform the same. I guess you dont believe anyone should add their own special touch to their car to make it uniquely theirs. I am sure that the aftermarket vendors will have some very fine products for the C6 that can only enhance the owning experience of the C6.

Just my 2 cents...

I agree. However, and while I don't want to offend anyone, the oem polished wheels do not qualify as a good polish job IMO.

Just my 2 cents...
It is their car and they can do whatever they want to but when they come back on here complaining the car is no good or nothing works perhaps either because of abuse or modification is the reason (Of course they don't tell you that) for their problems but it is their $$$$ and lots of times it isn't the car it is the bubba person who is working on the car change one thing and it changes the other thing. The engineers who made this car the way it is did so not by adding of this aftermarket stuff which only ends up causing more problems cause now the car has been so modified it isn't a Corvette no more. This car was made in such a way that if you mess with it by modifications you are going to mess up the computers, sensors everything. Just try installing an aftermarket (a better stereo) and then get back to me as I would love to hear the improvements made. and so all the cars will be different some of the cars will run with reliability driving the car the way it was designed to be driven and some of the cars modified by their owners who complain the car is no good and doesn't run because they messed something up but they won't admit to that or abused it or tampered with something and end up blaming it on the car. If it works don't fix it and if it is good why mess with a good thing? but at least it contributes to the economy for the people in aftermarket parts.

Discount Tire had to put 120-140 psi into my Michelin PS ZP's for several minutes to get them to seat.

They had the wheels/tires in low, heavy cages on the floor while this was being done.

They said it was the norm with wide wheels (9.5 & 13") and low profile (275/35 & 345/30) runflats.

FYI, my wheels are chrome but they didn't indicate that it required any extra attention.

YMMV.
