My dealer informed me that my order change to add the Z51 was accepted by Chevy. After I get my new car, I'm either going to really grateful I took the advice of this Forum or really angry with myself for changing my mind based on what I've read from a bunch of Corvette fanatics. I do know one thing, when I'm criusing around town going 35, I'm going to feel good knowing I've got the Z51 package. Gotta have fun! I'll at least have to point out the drilled rotors to everyone.
Actually, I am very grateful for this forum, I have learned a ton and yes it has influenced my buying decision. This is really exciting, I've never experienced anything like this when buying other cars.
The way I figure it, my car should be here just in time for the snow or maybe in time for spring after the tranny problem is fixed.

Just curious what did you change from before to the z-51 now? Why would you be angry perhaps if the ride is too stiff? I can't agree with you more there is alot of knowledge out there and this has been most helpful.
In all seriousness, I don't think you'll regret it. I considered the Z51 for awhile, but went with the base suspension, which is very good. Someone posted info. a while back saying the Z51 suspension was only 11% stiffer than the base suspension.
I changed from the base suspension. My plans for the car are to drive around town as a daily driver and take 3 or 4 trips/yr to Vegas in it. It's about 775 miles one way to Vegas for me. I felt the base suspension was a rational decision, the Z51 an a emotional decision. I'm buying a high performance car, why not go all the way? Just couldn't resist getting all that is offered whether I'm going to use it or not.
As far as resale, I remember the premium of getting a big block vs small block. I have to wonder if the Z51 will also help down the road when selling or trading up.
Inconceivable! -That you will regret having Z51. There are so many plus's and only one possible minus - a less than Cadillac quality ride. But, you did buy a Corvette, right? So, I believe that having it equipped such that you can get everything out of it that you purchased it for just makes sense. That isn't to say that those who don't necessarily have that "need for speed" and may be more reserved in there driving style, shouldn't equip their C6 as they deem fit. But, I don't think you will ever be heard saying, "I wish I had base suspension."
