Default Skip Shift Eliminator Problem

Has anyone heard or had a problem with the Cags bypass causing the car to overheat?
We had a customer state that when the bypass was installed the car hit 260 degrees and uninstalled it and it worked fine.

Any input would be nice.

Paul

Must have been something unrelated or some coincidence. I don't see how inserting a resistor that the PCM can't even detect could cause overheating. I have the CAGS eliminator on mine; no sign of any overheating problem.

I've had a "CAGS defeat" on my '98 for seven years and there has never been an overheating problem.

I plugged the resistor(2200 ohms .5 watts) into mine 2 day ago--no overheating problem--Plug is located on tranny DRIVERS SIDE-only plug on that side of tranny- The pass side has 2 plugs-one is probably to keep you from going into reverse accidently-Have no idea what the other does-

Should be 1/2 watt = 0.5watt!

Just checking!

GM has already stated that an aftermarket bypass can cause incorrect voltages in the BCM and a damaged BCM. Not sure if this would cause the engine to overheat or not.

I used them on three of the C5s I have owned, never a problem with any of them.
