Default 2006 Changes?

I am trying to decide whether to order a 2005 now, or wait for the 2006. Does anyone have any confirmed changes for next years C6? (ie. new steering wheel, additional colors, anything mechanical). Judging by the C5's cycle, I assume just about everything will be the same, but I don't want to miss out on something for a few months.

I doubt you will see any major changes from '05 to '06, other than color or running mechanical changes/improvements.

There will be one or two new colors, there could be a 3 spoke steering wheel, the XM antenna should be integrated in the mirror and there may be a 6 speed automatic.

It's way too early to know for sure what changes will be made.

I hope that happens. A six speed auto would be sweet

Oh I sure hope all this materializes!

(And added bonus might be some bugs worked out.)

A six speed auto would be sweet
Whether it be the 6 spd auto, the 6 spd auto from the steering wheel, the manual (from the steering wheel), or the choice of both steering wheel AND console (auto or manual) shifters (like Mercedes), all these options are more than just a little welcome!

Is it even possible to integrate the XM antenna into the mirror?

I wouldn't mind seeing some more colors. Bring back MSG!

I'm sorta a "newbie" here but model years are not calendar years.
Models change in late summer early fall, Sept - Nov.
So, your "few months" will actually be close to a year by the time you receive your new car.

Added on top of that if your "baby" gets hit with "Quality Checks" and Constraints you could be waiting longer.

Model years change in mid-July with deliveries occuring early August. Also for us northern states people, subtract winter out of that, as the Vettes are stored for many of us until March/April.

That is what I am waiting for. But the decision to wait is easier for those already owning a Corvette. If I didn't have a Vette, I am not sure I would wait.

It's still killing me.....I want the nav, heated seats, XM radio, and 400 hp, too!

I still love my 2000 coupe, though! I still get wonderful comments from folks about it!

I'm waiting for the 06 model year as well - mostly to see the new Z. I think there will be some additions, but unsure of how major/minor they will be. I don't expect an auto/paddle shifter after just 1 production year, but the development cycle seems much quicker with the C6 than the C5 IMHO so nothing would surprise me. I don't think Dave Hill and the rest of Team Corvette will wait 3-4 years to make major developments on the C6s since the competition in the sports car segment is much more competitive than it was back in 97-8 when the first C5s arrived and 345 hp was a BIG number in that category.

No one is promised to be alive tomorrow! Delayed gratification is only good if you're 100% guaranteed to be here...and no one is! Enjoy life and your toys while you can!
