Owner's manual says 91 octane and above . It says the car's computer will adjust the timing to run on regular or mid-range to prevent knocking but not to make a habit of it .
The owner's manual says to "Use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane of 91 or higher for best performance." But it also says you may use lower octane gasoline, but your vehicle's acceleration may be reduced.
It says that if you use gasoline with a lower than 87 octane rating, you may get a heavy knocking noise when driving. If you use gasoline with an octane rating lower than 87, it recommends that you use 87 or higher as soon as possible.
There's also a full paragraph on California gasoline and California emission standards.
91 Octane is the highest we have in Colorado. Since, the altitude is higher, you don't need as high of an octane gas. I certainly hope 91 is high enough.

The above information is correct.

I have now tried 87 and 93 in the C6. I can not tell ANY difference in performance and the mileage is the same. I have ~1150 miles on it now.
Exactly which of the statements made by RedC6Coupe you quoted is "incorrect"? They were all either a statement made about what he/she uses, or quotes and summaries from the owners manual. The warning in the owners manual refers to using fuel with less than 87 octane rating - have you used that also?
