Default The Value Component

I must tip my hat (if I wore one) to GM for the new C6. I have never considered buying a Corvette before this one. Certainly I have admired their performance but the interior and exterior styling never appealed to me and the quality of the car was an issue. I have always purchased foreign cars, Infinity, BMW etc.

After considering the excellent reviews of the C6, I was able to see one in person and I was very impressed. First, on an absolute basis I was impressed, and even more so on the basis of value.

Comparing a C6 to a new 911 is revealing. The new Porche is certainly a very fine automobile but the Vette can really hold its own in a comparison. I can understand that on a cost irrelevant basis, the Porche might be preferred by most people, but it is close. I think I might even take the Vette on this basis.

When cost is considered, for me the issue is remarkable. The Vette is a tremendous value. Certainly the performance is there. The new engine is a solid addition. The Z51 suspension package is right up my alley.

More than that, however, are the quality isuses that impressed me. I do like the cockpit and interior. The issue of the painted aluminum pieces is the only thing that is so not great, but this is easily remedied. I am confident that ExoticWood Dash and other suppliers will soon have raw brushed aluminum kits out for this . The general look and materials of the interior are fine to me.

The new manual transmission is a very nice change. In all the rememdy of the "dissatisfactors" has been beautifully done.

Bottom Line - my Silver/Black Z51 C6 should be built in about 4 weeks.

nice post yeah about sums up my feelings.
I always liked Vette's but have always owned foreign cars except for my first ever car which i still have" 69 Camaro SS 350"
I have had BMW's Acura's 1 Legend and 1 NSX, Toyota and Infiniti cars. But saw the C6 and was like wow. Now i cant wait to get my 330Ci paid off so i can save up a bit to buy a 2006 C6 Coupe.
I pray the 6 Speed Auto will be out by next year.

I totally agree. Pictures do not do this car any justice. seeing the car in person is amazing. I saw it at Criswell in MD again this weekend right beside a Lotus, Porshe, and Ferari, and this Vette definitely held it's own in the looks department.

I never thought the vette set itself apart in regards to the interior. Now the interior is much better and classy, and take this vette to an entirely different level.

This will be my first vette, and i can't wait to get it!

I'm with all three of you. First vette, a silver/black Z51 MN6 is on order! I'm a bit ashamed that at my age I am getting this excited about a new toy! Like some others here, my wife thinks I'm nuts, too.

I know just how you feel. Knowing my DSOM/cashmere Z51 MN6 Polished Wheels will be here next week, makes me so excited, that I have to drain my leg bag more often!
At least my wife doesn't think I'm nuts, probably 'cause she's nuts, too!
But, that's a different story....
Enjoy the new Vette, it'll make you feel younger, quicker, than a 6-pack of Viagra! :o

I'm with you guys. I had sworn off GM but there's something irresistible about the C6. Two weeks into ownership and I have not experienced any buyers remorse. (That has never happened to me.) The C6 has met my every expectation. Long term durability is the only outstanding issue.

You guys will love it.

I do not think that people will choose the 911 over the Vette if cost was not a factor.

I will personally choose the Vette over the POS over-rated Porsche any day & at any price.
