I love the fob.
I too don't keep my keys in my pocket all day. What is the difference in picking up the fob or key & transponder when you go to your car?
I also will admit that it's a little uncomfortable having the "keys/fob" in your pocket while driving....but there's SUMTHIN' about this car that makes me forget LITTLE things like that!
I hate to say it but I somewhat agree. I am 30 to 45 days from delivery, and the FOB thing concerns me. As old fashioned as it sounds, I would really rather have a key.
once u get in the car cant you just put the fob in the middle compartment? or like in the cup holder area? does it necessaraly HAVE to be in ur pocket? i mean i hate driving with stuff in my pocket as well. I thought you could hang it somewhere? somethign liek that?

OK, as long as the car isn't a substitute for SUMTHIN' in your pocket!
(nerk nerk)
I really like the idea of the credit card size. Great idea from a security standpoint, no one would EVER find it in my wife's wallet -- too many other cards!!! Uh oh here she comes now.....
I worry about fob's getting too small. My wife loses her keys enough as is.
My Infiniti FX uses a similar system. You need to have the FOB in the car somewhere; however, they also give you a key that snaps into the FOB so you can put a real key in the ignition if you want to or you can use the FOB and use the key only at car washes, parking lots, etc. I did have one situation where I placed the FOB (with the key) on the center console. When I made a turn the FOB fell down between the console and the seats and I couldn't find it. Once I got the car home it took a couple of hours to get the FOB back. Fortunately I did not need to leave the car anywhere in the meantime as it cannot be locked with the FOB in the car! It took some getting used to but after a year and a half I never use the key anymore. I pick up my C6 next Wednesday. I am sure there will be some adjustments that I need to make based on what I have read in the Forum. Ain't technology wonderful?!
To be realistic here......... I believe you are on the right track, but something a bit less intrusive would be more likely.
I would like to see a simple credit card sized component that goes in my wallet, which has my drivers license in it anyway which I always need, or in a ladies purse with her drivers license.
This would be the absolute best possible solution for everyone. You could even attach it to your license.
