Default Navigation Warning Screen

Love my new DSOM MN6, perfect in all respects so far. I read a post a while ago on how to stop the Navigation warning screen from coming up every power up. Right now every time I turn the car on I get a warning and have to hit the Agree button before the Nav system will display. I've done a search for that post but can't find it. Does everyones work that way or is there a way to get rid of this annoyance. Thanks for any help.

The only way to get rid of it is to shoot all the lawyers.

Push the Source hardkey to the left of the screen. That will hide the NAV screen. Return to Nav by pushing NAV hardkey.

My wifes new bmw has a warning that you have to hit before the Idrive will display. Since your nav is there its kinda the same thing. There is however an electronic gizmo that you can buy that will hit it for you (on the BMWs) when you start the car. My wife doesnt care but if it were my car I would spend a few dollars for it.

Several have complained about their lack of accuracy. Updates are supposedly available yearly.

I sure have! Driving across the middle of Nevada, desert all around, on a main U.S. Highway, the girls voice tells me; "In a half mile, turn left." What??? It did it several times for no reason. The screen was 100%correct (nowhere to turn) but the voice was so wrong that it could be dangerous in the dark.

Wait, is this the same Suttleone (my hero) that posted "176 MPH in my C6 and still climbing."??? I'm sure glad you don't drive in the dark using the Nav system!!

Default Warnings are a result of our litigation history.

Thank our legal community for the warning systems on every navigation system.

My experience is with another system in a BMW. Accuracy is always a function of what's in the database, which is on a CD. If you live in an urban area, it's not uncommon for cities to do things suddenly like put up "no left turn signs" at intersections where it was previously allowed, and things like that won't appear in the database, until you acquire a new updated CD.

It's usually a minor annoyance and the system will pick up the route again if you have to go a few extra block to make that left turn.

The map data is about 4 years old in places. I have spoken with the data supplier to Denso who makes the unit. I live in an area where existing 4 lanes are not in the data.

Be sure to put off road tires on the car in places because, according to the navigation system, you will be "off road"

I enjoy the Nav System and find it to be right on the money. The only thing I don't like is having another women telling me where to go. hahah
