Well, I'm into my second full day of ownership and have come across my first problem. It's not serious, but I'm surprised to see any problems at all this soon.
My sound Bose sound system sounds pretty decent, especially with a good quality CD playing. I just noticed that after about 15 or 20 minutes in the car, the left channel will start distorting. It will stay distorted until the car has cooled down...then it sounds fine again. Another run in the car, and 15 minutes later the left channel goes bad again. My suspicion is the amp is bad since a bad speaker should just be bad. I called my dealer and they'll check on it for me with GM. It'll be a simple warranty repair, but I'm curious if anyone has seen anything like this before.
Other than this very minor problem, the car has been fantastic and seems to get better every time I drive it. Our little town of 1800 people is all excited about the new C6. One of my friends just said "I see you came over from the dark side", referring to the fact that this is my first American made car in many, many years.
I had read a couple of threads complaining about distorted speakers but haven't been able to find them.
My dealer called back and said GM had no reports of amp issues on the C6, so I'm bringing it in Monday so the dealer can listen to it. I'm sure they'll wind up ordering a new amp for the car.
One advantage of the C6 over my BMW Z4: my nearest BMW dealer was a 5 hour round trip, my Chevy dealer is 15 miutes away. A minor service issue used to be an all day affair...now it's a minor inconvenience.

Well worth the long wait!

Nothing like that going on with mine Stan. I had the stereo "no audio" problem once, but it has not returned yet. No static. I would say amp problem, or a loose connection somewhere.
Feels pretty good to support the home team, doesn't it? I know I'm all-kinds-of-proud to drive my car around.

I can walk to my dealership in about 5 minutes from my house. Short of sleeping in a cot in their back room, my repairs couldn't be any more convenient than they are now.
Are you sure it isn't that safety feature...where the left speaker goes away for 5 seconds while the seat belt sign flashes and beeps about 5 times(so you can hear it and buckle up)...then comes back on(if you're not buckled up). I thought my left speaker was messed up until I finally heard the dinging sound while I was driving.
My apologies for recommending the Sticky FAQ. That thing has nearly every problem we've heard of included, but this one slipped under the radar, so to speak. I really thought there was something in there about it.
I've been having pretty good luck with the search feature lately, myself, but sometimes misspelled words give me a problem (not my spelling, but spelling in the posted article).
EDIT: Here are 2 links about others having a problem with their speakers. I think their problems are slightly different, but there may be some similarities. I did find these with the advanced search feature.
TX Steve T posted this a while ago : "After the radio has been on for a few minutes, the sound from the left channel becomes distorted, like a blown speaker. The distortion is at all sound levels, soft or loud. Sounds fine for a while (other than the XM sounds like the input level is alot lower than FM and CD) then its like the amp heats up and it starts to distort. " Sounds familiar. I just emailed him to see what the fix was. My dealer called me back and told me to bring the car in on Monday so they can have a look at it.
This in no way diminishes the joy I'm experiencing in owning this car. My new Z4 had a shorted brake fluid warning light circuit when I got it, my Audi A6 had a leaking headlight washer after 3 weeks of ownership, my BMW 528i blew a wheel sensor in the first couple of months. Even my daughter's Honda Civic had to go back for an inoperable rear window defroster. All those cars turned out to be totally trouble free after the first few problems, so this really doesn't bother me.
Did I mention that this car is absolutely incredible?
