Drove my C6 to Cleveland today during a rain storm. The automatic headlights turned on and off many times during the trip. Is this normal because the lighting conditions did not change? Or should I take my C6 back to the dealer for an adjustment?
The owner's manual talks about the lights turning on automatically anytime you activate the wipers. Here it is from pg 3-16
Wiper Activated Headlamps
This feature activates the headlamps and parking lamps
after the windshield wipers have been in use for
approximately 15 seconds and deactivates and returns
to ambient lighting conditions 15 seconds after the
wipers are turned off.
If the exterior lamp control has been turned off or is
in the parking lamp position while the wiper control
is active in any position, the HEADLAMPS
SUGGESTED message will appear on the
Driver Information Center (DIC).
When the ignition is turned off, the wiper-activated
headlamps will immediately turn off.
Oh, no! I hate automatic headlights. Tell me they can be de-activeted!
In Texas I am pretty sure it is a law that your headlights must be on if your windshield wipers are on due to rain. However I couldnt imagine a DPS officer pulling you over for this.
My wifes Yukon XL and my GMC truck have auto headlights and they work very well.

It's the law in TN too, but about 1 out of 4 or 1 out of 5 don't seem to know it. Don't think I've ever heard of anyone being pulled over for it or even given a ticket after being stopped for something else.
Sounds like the wipers may have been stopped a few times in the original post.
