Does anyone have any comments on the stock rear axle ratio vs. the optional one with the auto. Non Z51. Difference in mileage? 0-60 or 1/4 mile times? I am getting ready to buy a C6 and it would help.
My best recollection on quotes for gas mileage is that the only differences we've seen quoted on the stickers that come on the C6 make a distiction between 6-sp and auto trannys.
My 6-spd is quoted to get 18/28 for city/highway. I think the automatics were quoted at 1 MPG less. If I've remembered these correctly, that would mean there probably wouldn't be much difference between the stock and perf. axle for the auto. Remember that the 6-spd has the 3.42 rear axle.
Haven't seen any quotes on 0-60 for 1 axle vs the other, but GM quotes 0-60 for auto. at 4.5 sec with Z51, 4.6 sec. w/o Z51.

From the Special Issue of Corvette Quarterly, page 86.
0-60 4.6 sec., optional axle 4.5 sec.
1/4 mile 13.0 @ 110 mph, optional axle 12.9 @ 110
They make reference to the 3.15 axle being on a Z51 car but the same times should apply to an automatic with the base or F55 suspension also.
Separate mileage figures for each axle is not given.

I may be wrong but I dont think the c6 has an axle.............it does however have a differential.
