I am number one on my dealer's list for a new C6. We signed an agreement (at MSRP) about 9 weeks ago for a silver/ebony z51 1SA coupe. Since then they have only received one C6 and it was delievered to a friend of mine who ordered his earlier than mine.
I have a copy of the Vehicle Order Detail which is dated September 8, 2004.
The dealer tells me that they do not have a production date and that the two week build of verts is holding up further processing of my order. They expect a December build date. Does this make sense? Is there anything that the dealer can do to speed up the process?
My dealer does not sell many corvettes - small town. I do have an order number - PSBK6 - so I guess I am official. This will be my first Corvette and I am looking forward it.

Tom
That order number sounds like a local invoice as opposed to a GM order number which should be 6 letters starting with an "H" Read around the FAQ sticky and see if you can find this week's thread on constraints. I do think he may be right about the Verts pushing the Coupes back a little as I have heard of recent TPW changes on coupe orders. Make sure your dealer is shooting straight with you, he has to have allocation to make an order for you in the first place and that is based on previous year's sales. If he does not give you a 6 letter GM order number but tells you he "Has it on order" then he is just stringing you along.
GL to you and your first Vette!!! Again read the FAQ, it takes a lot of the mystery on how your order is placed and delivered.
Yes, it does. I'm experiencing the same situation. My dealer's current (this week) allocation is for one convertible, for which they had no takers so they're using the allocation for one for stock. Hope you have better luck than I.
