Default Navigation Hacks

I have had my new C6 for a week now. Coming from the Acura TSX (a very technology oriented car) and a previous C5, there is one thing that really irks me about the C6's Nav. system. It won't allow you to enter an address while the car is in motion. I know you can use previous destinations and saved memory points, but I want to be able to enter a new address at any time, including while I'm moving, just like the Acura system allows. I know it has to do with the lawyers, but come on! So with that said, anyone know of a "hack" around this so called safety feature?

Nothing publicly available yet.

This "feature" really bugged me when I had a Lexus. For my C6, I'm leaning away from the factory nav and toward an aftermarket system. The integration of the factory nav is nice, but not nice enough to overcome this serious usability handicap.

With our Jeep Grand Cherokee you must be stopped as well when entering an address.

Fuque,

I hear what you are saying. This is the second car I have had with built in Navi and I have also tried a Garmin system for grins. While the Garmin system worked great, it didn't work any better than the factory units, and the issue of having to move it out of site when you park someplace is not fun, not to mention having to dig it out again to use it. I highly recommend if you want Navi, get the built in system. The price in the C6 is the lowest I have ever seen for built in ($1,495) while a good Garmin system will run you $1,000 or thereabouts.

My $.02

Has anyone seen a hack to allow you to play movies on the Nav system?

Are you willing to give up the Nav direction display on the HUD when approaching major intersections or places where you must get off one road and on to another? No aftermarket unit will do that for you. For $1,400, it's a great value.

I've heard the screen resolution doesn't support it, unless you do some fancy tampering with the video card and some other stuff that flies way over my head. Love your avatar though!
