Default MPH makes me sick

Did you gets check out th new issues of MPH magazine?? They compare a 2005 vette against a 2005 Porsche. After many tests the vette seems better but they still brag more about the Porsche and they give it the edge over the Vette. Thats insane!!! they also said that the girls prefer the Porsche over the Vette. The Vette was truly the better choice, but they just cant beleive the true. They are so biased against the vette that it makes me sick!!!!!

I agree, but you realize the vette has a stigma to overcome. The vette has always been labeled as an unrefined brute that rattled and squeeked, and was not befitting of the world-class car moniker. The C6 is a huge step in that direction, and many of the auto mags are saying so. It will take a while to sway the masses to understand the corvette is now not just a great american sports car, but a true world-class sports car! We know it, but it will take time for the masses to know and embrace the new more refined Corvette!

The reason why Porsche may have won in the comparison is due to the fact that Porsche may have purchased more advertising than Chevy did.

Who "Flucsking" cares if girls like the Porsche better then the Vette anyway? I met my wife when I drove a beat to hell VW Golf. The kind of car you drive should have nothing to do with the woman who's company you enjoy.

To the original poster or anyone else who thinks it's unfair:

Have you driven the 997?

Thanks,

Adam, who cares? That mag. said one thing, others (e.g. C&D) have said otherwise. It's all very subjective, and whatever the buyer wants to pay for is all that counts. The fact they're even being compared given the difference in price is amazing.

Truth! Magazines exist to sell ad space. If you are expecting objective unbiased reporting from car magazines, you're going to be disappointed.

Yeah, I'm looking at it now. How about the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times
they list? (4.7 and 13.1, respectively for a MN6). Pretty bad...

Nothing wrong with the Porsche. It may be the best sports car ever. It may not be as fast but it handles like a dream. With the better fit and finish, superior shifter and very nice interior, it is my next car.

That said, the new C6 has much improved headlights and good HP increase over the C5. It may be the best value for our money but not really better than the newest Porsche.

I have modded my C5 to the point that it has way more HP than I can really use due to the LAW and traction. It has been a very reliable car and will not sell it. The new C6 while it has many improvements over the C6, none really do much for me as I have posted in the past.

After driving both new cars, the Porsche just "does it for me". However it will cost way more dough and that is why for the money the C6 wins hands down. But at my age, I say the hell with the cash, get what rings my bell.

The Stan review:

The Porsche 997 is very nice but I can't fit in it, therefore...

THE C6 WINS AGAIN!!!!!!!
