How fast is C6?

i owned an e55
i had an e55 amg,,, four door, with the handbuilt 469 horsepower engine,,, what was great about it? it was incredibly smooth and quiet as a luxury car, until you stepped on it... then it was quick, however it was so smooth you didnt really feel the power that much until you were racing something and noticed how you were beating them,,, the other thing was when i was on the highway,, from 60 miles an hour it just flew up to 100 incredibly quickly.... our city has tons of red light cameras all over the place, and i was constantly getting speeding tickets,, not for going crazy or anything,,, but just going over the speed limit, because you didnt notice, because it was so smooth....

another thing about the e55
by the way, i used to always outrun the c5 corvette,, by actually quite a bit,,, im not sure how i would have done against a c6 though,,, the car ran a 12.5 at the drags one weekend though,,,,, i used to love the looks on guys faces in sportscars,,, that was the most fun,,,, a four door family sedan, destroying what they thought was hot,,,,,

On the Nurburgring the C6 got a time of 7:56. Other cars w/ the same exact time are as follows:

All of the cars listed above have the same time of 7:56 at N-Ring

Of course, it could have been hot/warm weather when the car was
tested.

The C6 is plenty fast (everybody knows the numbers), but acceleration is such a one dimentional view of the car.... It's a package made to perform, including handling, top speed, acceleration, etc. Don't take too narrow a view of the C6, she's much more than an urban street racer...

Ok, thanks, so now my next ? Should I get the c6 and mod it to 500hp or wait for the new z06 which has 500hp right out of the box? My wife says I can't get the c6 and then just trade it in a year for the z06 and lose money on trading like I always do. I have a problem with that. I always want the next faster thing. Also, I heard the Modena is being replaced with F430 I think it's called and will have 490hp. That is a car it is important to beat. Even though I may never race against one, I would sleep better at night knowing I would not be smoked by one. Please let me know, the advice has been great so far.

All I know (and I "only" have the C5), about acceleration in the real world of freeway onramps and passing lanes, is that the fun is over all too quickly.
Such a short amount of time goes by from "go" until I'm doing the legal speed limit...
..
The rush of acceleration is so exciting and fun, but when I get to 60 mph, my brain finally kicks in I'll back off.
The power surge is so complete, that even at my fastest speed of 60 mph it feels like there's so much more power on tap just waiting to be used.
I gotta get to a track one day to feel what 70+ mph feels like...
I can only imagine what 50 extra ponies under the C6 hood must feel like...

I have run against both a C6 & a Viper. IMHO the C6 was a little slower than Z06's I have run. The Viper is a much faster car... I did beat both. Scary Fast is VERY subjective. I know the Vette Tech at the Chevy dealer doesn't like driving our car because it is too dangerous. And yet my wife & I want to add TT's to make it faster.
