I agree with SEA6 about settling.

All these delays might make museum delivery a more enticing option. I originally didn't want to take a chance on driving home in crummy weather (I've driven through Nashville in a December ice storm!). Might just "spring" for this option now.

I guess that February or March delivery is still acceptable, but if it is much after that you might as well wait for an '06, which will have improvements like the XM antenna in the mirror rather than smack in the middle of the trunk.

Several different sources at the plant and in Detroit have told me that the XM antenna will probably be moved to the mirror (I guess inside the mirror.).

Everyone should do what is right for them, but let me give some food for thought.

I had a 2001 coupe, then a 2003 vert. I drove with the top down all the time. I never drove the coupe with the top off because of turbulence.

I had a C6 vert on order for a long time. I changed mainly because I decided to buy a motorcycle, and decided I wasn't as wealthy as I thought I was, so I wanted to save some money.

I have now driven my C6 coupe with the top off, and the wind turbulence is MUCH less than the C5. Also, the windshield is further forward, so you really have an open air feeling with the top off (yes, I realize this will be the same for the vert).

Heck, I trade every 18-24 months anyway, so I figure I'm getting another six months enjoyment out of a new C6 (in the bad weather months as well), and when I go to trade in a couple of years, I'll be able to get a better deal on a C6 vert by then anyway (likely get it at GMS, and will buy it as cheap as my coupe. That's what I did on my C5's).

And you can't put the top up and drive a vert in the same bad weather months?

Aw, don't razz him too badly. He was mean as an old bear while he was waiting on a vert. Every time there was even a hint that vert production was going to slide, he'd bite your head off.
