VIN Assignment?

At what point in the production process is the vehicle assigned a VIN? My order is at status 3400 today.

About a week before production. The factory will have it, but your dealer won't until it's actually produced.

My dealer didn't give me my VIN until the car was shipped, but he was a little slow

I believe it's assigned by the time it reaches 3400.

Thank you for not writing "VIN Number."

So then, is Kevin @ GM the guy to call for this info.?

Absolutely. He's the only guy who'll have the VIN for you that early.

Aside from any quality hold problems it sounds like you'd better get the wax and clean towels ready! I was at 3400 2 weeks ago and I'm on deck tomorrow. I hope you're wait is a short one .

Jack. I will let you know when I get my vin. if you havent got yours from Kevin they should be about the same time. I expect to know yet this week.
