If the ZO6 is as good as it is rumored to be then there will be no need. With three (coupe, convertible and Z06) body styles to manage GM does not need to lose focus by trying to manage the development and launch of a fourth. The incremental sales are not worth it.

Yes
Given the rapidly increasing level of competition in the high performance sports car world, I think the Blue Devil is a shoe-in...
Look at what's already happened since news of the C6 first became public. Many competing cars either already out, or soon to be released...
Let's all just pray that the General continues to support the corvette. The folks at BG are sort of nervous about the future... Heard that from several in-the-know folks while taking NCM delivery back in October...

Just to Add Something..
Remember, the C5 almost didn't happen.... Corvette was on the chopping block....
We were told that during NCM delivery, but the vette was saved by someone newly into top management, can't remember his name, may be the current guy, not sure... It's one of the reasons the C4 lasted so long...., questionable fuinding for the next generation.
I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, thanks to that guy... , but I think he is soon to retire,if I remember the conversation correctly... There seems to be some question about the next guy in line having the necessary committment... The bottom line was that "corvette" wasn't out of the woods yet... The C6 should certainly help!

Reason: More info
The only way the "Blue Devil" will see the light of day is if GM commits to having more cars in Le Mans and a stepped up presence in the SCCA. Since they have already announced their Le Mans strategy for next year, I am going to say no "Blue Devil" for at least 3 more years.
But would they be able to sell 50,000 corvettes a year if they made that many? I doubt it. There's not that much profit in only 30,000 vettes.
Profit based on Per Car versus Total Volume are two different things. Corvette per car is one of the most profitable for GM. As for total volume, probably doesn't even make the top 20.
