Got asked to go with a friend on a scouting trip to University of Kansas at Lawrence last night. Since I'm always looking for an excuse to drive the Vette I offered to drive and him pay for the gas. We filled up, drove to Lawrence and back at my usual 65 - 80 mph, and filled up when we got back to where I picked him up. Result: 457 miles and 16.3 gallons (~28 mpg). Don't need no stinkin' hybrid. Corvettes are truly amazing.

We took my friends 2001 C5 to BG over labor day from MPLS. Got 29-30 going down and 32-33 mpg coming back! I was floored!

And what does that have to do with a C6?

Maybe that was enough to make him buy a C6.

Default 28.4 with 1600 mi

I drive 200 mi weekly from VA Bch to DC. First trip was 26, Fri I got 28.4. Cruise set at 78 with a few excursions to 95+, no AC. I expect to get better with added miles.
My daily commute is different. 3.8 mi drive. 35 mph speed limit. Minor hills, 13 traffic lights into a 2 level parking garage. About as city as you can get. 12.8-13.5 mpg. Not bad either considering.

Very good numbers for a 350 HP car. The 28 for a 400 HP car are also impressive. I have never had a car that does as well. Hoping my C6 does it.

My average MPG over the first 1753 miles has been 27.9. Impresses me. When my 350Z was my daily driver, it only got 23.7 MPG. The gas I'm saving will pay for the trade up to the C6 in only 159.5 years. Hmmm, Ok, I didn't trade primarily for better gas mileage.

Seems like when you tell people about the gas mileage you get with a Vette, that impresses them as much as anything. The guy I went with couldn't believe we could make the round trip on only one tank. He's used to about 16 with his SUV.
