Default Visor warning label/sticker

I know this has been discussed before.... the warning stickers used to peel off the visors, but alas it seems that is no longer the case.

How about someone designing and marketing a good looking sticky back C6 emblem on high quality black cloth about the size of that label... I'll buy the first one!

Picked up my new Mag Red coupe Wednesday afternoon. First thing I did when I got it home was to get out the hair dryer & slowly peel off those labels while carefully applying heat. It worked great. As posted on this forum many times. I'm sure it'll work for you , too. Good luck & let us know the results.

Default C-6 Emblem for visors

That is a great idea. A C-6 emblem would be perfect. I peeled mine off but there is a residue that remains with the outline of the sticker.

Great Idea.
Took off the passenger side and left a big sticky mess. I’ll attempt your hair dryer idea today. The passenger side, I’ll try GooGone. Will post results.

Try Bra-Cleen I bought a spry can of the stuff at Advanced Auto when I removed the stickers from my 03 Z. This stuff leaves no reside or smell. It's sort of like dry cleaning fluid but for brake cleaning. Trust me, it will remove any residue and not leave behind any residue. Cost .99 cents too. I'm know as the "lable remover" guy at my club.

While I haven't decided to remove those, vs. cover up, I had decided to go the hair dryer route and then clean-up with "lighter fluid" aka naptha.
I use lighter fluid to clean the jackets(covers) of my book collection with no ill effects at all. It evaoprates very fast and works well with almost all kinds of glue. - FWIW

Hair dryer worked great. Goo-Gone did not work on the residue from the one I peeled off last week. Going the lighter fluid route next. If that doesn’t work, I'll revert to a 40 grit disk sander. Just kidding.

I used another brand called Goof Off. Works great and it got off all the glue. Keep using clean cloth rags/towels when you are wiping off the glue.

The stickers (safety labels) don't bother me at all. I think the visor labels are cool. Of course I still have the plastic on my couch....

Default This forum is GREAT!!!

I would have never had the guts to turn a hair dryer without all the advice here. Tried it tonight, kept going back and forth and picking at the label... all of a sudden it peeled of like there was no glue on it at all. The label didn't feel sticky and neither does the visor. The visor was a tad shiny where the label had been, I used some Ooops (latex paint/glue/crayon remover) and it seems to have done the trick... at least under the florescent light in the garage... and the shop light held inside the car. Truth will come tomorrow in the sunlight.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I previously owned a Honda S2000. Someone on that forum or message board offered S2000 stickers to go over the standard warning stickers. They were difficult to get on properly, but once applied they looked good and covered the airbag warnings. I htink C6 logo or even the "Corvette wings" would look good. I am afraid to try to remove the stock stickers. I would probably make a bigger mess.

Guys, I have been working on a vinyl C6 logo to be able to put it any place you want. Your idea is good and I can have the Logo made the size of the Visor directions and it will cover it. I figure that the background should be black to cover the directions. Not sure if the visor is a different color on say red interior, you tell me. Anyway, stay tuned and I will most likely have something in a week or so.

I've got the red interior and the sun visors are black.

When you're using your faviorite glue remover, try brushing it with a rug brush and wipe. It worked for me, no residue of any kind on older labels of any make.

What have you got? C6s have a large warning label on each sun visor (as indicated by the title of this thread). Each label is close to being 3 in. X 5 in.

On the visors there is nothing there but a mirror. In the glove box is a label warning about the airbag.

Heat and patience !

Then get the remaining adhesive with duct tape blotted on the area, changing tape periodically.

Good Luck
