Happened to me tonight. Irratating. Car was in the garage and in reverse and no lights left on that I could tell. Sat for about 5 days. Battery completely dead. Wouldn't jump start to easily either. Tow truck had to have jumpers on for about 5 minutes before it decided to crank over. One very weird thing however, the first time I hooked up the cables, the alarm went off. Drove the car about 40 miles to charge it up. The battery (voltage meter) moved up slowly from about 38 to 45 over the drive time. We'll see what happens in the next few days.
Same thing happened to me tonight. I haven't driven the car since last Sunday and wanted to go out for a spin tonight and went out and couldnt get in the car. Tried both fobs and they wouldnt work. The car was left in R and no lights left on either.
My question is, how did you guys jump the car?? I am just a lil afraid of jumping it. My brother has a '99 Camaro SS with the red top Optima battery on it, we were going to try and jump the C6 with that but wasn't sure if the SS was a 12-volt like required according to the manual.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, you can shoot me a PM or an email or just reply.
Thanks again!!

The manual says its ok to jump it. Has a couple pages on the procedure. But, I'd just call your road side assistance and have them do it for you. Be aware that it may need a few minutes of juice before it will be ready to turn over. Drove mine today. It seemed fine. However, its happening to too many of us to be our neglect. Must be an issue somewhere. Curious..let us know if your alarm goes off when it's first hooked up to the cables. Also, if you drive it to charge it up, maybe you could leave your voltage meter on the DIC and give us an update/review of what it starts at and how it changes over the length of the drive.
I'm fairly certain now that the dimmer light switch was pushed in so that the map lights would not go out. Thanks for the help.
My dimmer switch is flimsy and often jams.
I think this is the source of the battery drain problem. Check that the map lights are off before walking away from the car!
The second time the dead battery syndrome hit me, I had the car taken back to the dealer on a rollback. They determined that the battery would not hold a charge and then replaced it. Only time will tell if there is another problem.
