On several occasions I would drive my C5 to some of the nicer hotels in the area and use the valet parking. Now with my C6 on order, I was thinking that it would be less a good idea than ever before, especially with this no-key fob system. I can see a battery drain for sure without the proper parking procedure.
Now believe me, no one drives my car at first but me. But after a couple of years I get a little more bold.
So my question gang, does anyone ever let a hotel valet park their vette and especially with the C6 keyless system?

No one that I don't know dives my car/truck period. I watched someone race the hell out of my truck once up the circular ramps at the Biltmore in L.A.. Now, my little valet friend who could not speak English or even see over the steering wheel, gave me a bit of attitude and I ended paying nothing and resigning myself to the fact that I park, period.

And I'm also the knucklehead that parks way out at the end of the lot where there are no cars. My wife don't mind the walk so what the hell. I dunno, I'm just not trusting anybody that gives me a little slip that completely releases them from ALL liability, I don't go for that. I'll park it thank you, even a 91 Z71 w/100K Baja Miles on it!
After what I experienced today fixing a nail puncture, which turned out alright, there is to much to this car that is to new for people. The FOB, the reverse, the entry to the car, looking for door locks etc. I would park it myself and pay to have the staff keep an eye on it.
I pay an extra $10 or $20 and park it myself in the valet section ad KEEP the keys. Usually it's not a problem if you tip the Valet Captain.
What's the advantage to parking it in the valet section? Do you think those guys are any more careful when they drive than the average person who parks next to you in the self-park lot? Of course, if the place only has valet parking and no self-park then this is your best choice.
Also, a lot of places will still insist on keeping your keys "in case we have to move your car." Valets jam the cars in like sardines, and often have to move other cars because the one that whats to leave is boxed in.
I wouldn't let a valet park my pickup truck, let alone my Corvette!!!
