If the C6 is so light years ahead of your 94, you havent mod'd your 94 correctly.
My $.02
Im just thrilled that now something news out there and the C5 owners will know how we felt.
I've never driven a C6 and I don't know that I want to. I finally got the change to drive C5 not so long ago and I really wasn't impressed. Oh sure it's comfortable as hell and there's a ton more room, but does that make it a sports car?
Performance wise my stock 92 6-spd would have easily hung with this C5 auto. Handling, well I didn't get the chance to run an autocross with it or anything, but I don't think it would have been all that great. The steering just felt dead, NO feedback. It might out-handle my car, but the lack of driver feedback really worried me. I just flat didn't feel comfortable driving that car fast like I do my car. Brakes? My non heavy duty C4 brakes with quality pads did a better job than the C5 brakes with stock pads.
It's all a matter of how much money you've got to spend to make it better. The C5 was a fine car but it just didn't have that sports car feel that I love so much about my C4. I know many a C5 that has been tossed off an onramp into a tree because it just didn't communicate back to the driver well enough.
My 85 feels like a sports car. Rides like a sports car, corners like a sports car, sounds like a sports car. And, any quiet conversation is out of the question!
I do like the looks of the C6 WAY more than a C5. I'll stick with my modded C4, damn thing is a beast - honest & brutal just the way a sports/muscle car should be

I have heard that they drive like dreams. I got to drive a Z06 and I was impressed, but wasn't ready to give up my girl. I like the ergonomics of the car... but I prefer the syling of the C4.
the c6 is one heck of a car.best value sports car money can buy right now.
the base coupe outdoes the c5 in every category and costs 1000 dollars less.
every car rag out there is raving about the car,and also the speed channels on sat/cable.
we should be proud of GM for this effort.
they even listened to complaints of c5s not felling like sports cars and added a totally different seat with longer base and full bolstering.
the ONLY thing that i dont like about the c6 is it makes me feel like the people that bought new c5s last year must feel a little short changed.
i dunno though, the anniversary edition is a beautiful car.
still, they build a better car and then sell it cheaper?that just doesnt seem fair. to the c6 though. corvette is the buzz word in the auto industry once again.

Reference the current Car&Driver comparo of C6 to 997... C6 wins, barely, but it still wins...

I looked at a C6 last week here in Dallas, price $48000
Reading through this Thread reminds me again how special Corvettes are. There is a Corvette for everyone to enjoy. Just the fact that we take the time out of our busy lives to participate in this Forum is another indication how special the Corvette is. I have a C4, C5 and C6 in my garage and I enjoy driving each. They are Corvettes and unique in their own way! Let's hope that we are all able to continue to enjoy "miles and miles of smiles" in our favorite American Sports Car!

You would be the perfect person to ask a question I have had lately.
The C6 has kind of brought me to a new appreciation for the styling on the C4 and now I want to find a good example of a C4 to buy and start modifying as a daily driver. Is this a bad idea? I haven't been in a C4 in about 8 years. I'm afraid that owning and driving the C6 has made it hard to put up with the older design?
Having owned a C4, C5, and a C6 I can tell you in all honesty that the C6 is light years ahead of both the 4 and 5. I loved my 4 and 5 but this car will astound. The refinement is what really gets to you. The more you drive it the more you appreciate it. The sophistication of the suspension is the most notable. The power can only be described as effortless, all that torque that seems to make power at idle is intoxicating. The HUD brings the C4 guys their digital gauges (I loved them in my C4) but the gauge cluster is really something, back lit even in the day it just pops, and the needles are lit and are the reddest things you have ever seen. My C4s steering wheel had the perfect grip diameter, the C5 was much smaller and felt like any other car, they fixed it in the C6 the grip diameter is back with a perfectly laid out wheel. I could go on and on, but until you have driven one for a while you have no real clue as to how good this car really is. A test drive only tells 1/10th of the story.
